How they met
Louise and Jim worked as journalists/reporters in CA. Jim came east
with Louise in 1987 to visit with us and to
ask permission to marry Louise. He proposed at the City Tavern in Philadelphia,
PA when we went out to dinner. They were married in Santa Barbara CA on
April 9, 1988 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. I remember thinking
the name of the church was somewhat discomforting. As fortune would have
it their marriage did not last eight years. Jim was on a reporting assignment
covering a deep sea fishing trip when he is said to have fallen overboard
in the middle of the night on August 25, 1995. He was never found.
