Louise put together a magnificant binder/scrapbook that I hope will never be tossed or lost. It describes and illustrates many of the highlights of her school years up to high school graduation. She starts it with her kindergarden report card from Rock Creek Valley elementary school in Montgomery County MD in 1966. She weighed 33 lbs and was 38" tall. She missed 11 days of school. Some of them were snow days.

First grade she missed one less day, gained 5 lbs, and grew an inch. Her art projects were outstanding. She got all As and one B in her 15 subject reports - great start. Struggled with two issues - completing tasks and listening without interrupting. The other school years have as much detail but I will only share highlights.

Second grade she won an award for being the best speller in her class. That was in Richmond, VAs Henrico County School. Teacher Hankins said she was a pleasure to have in class. Missed only 4 days.

Third grade she made A-B honor roll at Pinchbeck School. Now 44 lbs and 47" tall.

Fourth grade was at Clara Barton School in Cherry Hill, NJ. Of 20 subject reports she got 14 As and 6Bs. Now at height of 51".

Fifth grade was at our new neighborhood school - Stockton. All As for the entire year and missed only 3.5 days. Self control, courtesy, and listening are in need of improvement. Now 4' 2" tall.

Sixth grade was same place and same performance. Now weighs 60 lbs.

Seventh grade was at Beck Middle School with continued almost all "A"s performance.

Eight grade was the same except for the "D" in algebra in the first marking period. She was 68 lbs and 4'8" tall. She appeared on TV on the quiz program named "Challenge" and won money to open a savings account. She was suspended from school for smoking on school property.

High School years
Ninth grade was at Cherry Hill East high school. Grades are now mostly "B"s - some "A"s and "C"s. Reached height of 5' that February.

Tenth grade was similar performance and she was at 5' 1" then. Showed great talent in Children's Theater performances. Got braces for her teeth.

Eleventh grade performance was back to all "A"s and "B"s. Now age 16, 95 lbs and 5' 2" tall. Received a number of art awards and passed her driving exam with ease so she could drive when she reached age 17. Broke her leg on a ski trip yet still was able to perform in school musical comedy of Hello Dolly. Excellent performance.

Twelfth grade final grades were 6 "A"s and 1 "B". National Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Senior Hall of Fame, Distinguished Service, and Academic Achievement were her awards. She was called a versatile singer/actress in the playbill for the school production of Gypsy. Her part in it was Miss Cratchitt.

She graduated on June 14, 1978.

Her name sake, Polly's Aunt Louise, sent a card of regret that she was too ill to attend.

Her proud parents were very happy. Her grandparents were too.
College years
She went to the Philadelphia College of Art for one year and then switched her focus from art to television. UCLA had a good curriculum for that as did NYU. She chose UCLA. She could establish residency in CA by living at her Uncle Bill and Aunt Marian's house. It enabled her to get a much lower tuition fee as an in-state student at UCLA. Her degrees are listed on her professional web page. Louise went on to get her masters and doctorate degrees from UCLA even though she kept working as a journalist and raised her two sons as a widow.
