Passenger Record Many Errors

Pause your cursor on passenger record for message and click it to see the only picture we have of her.
No first name, her ethnicity should say Italian, her place of residence should be city of Palma, province of Napoli, region of Campania, her age should be 12, Naples is missing as a port of departure.

Three others traveling with her from Palma-Campania were Oscar Marchiano, Amalia Marchiano, and a 31 year-old woman named Rosina Sauri. Maybe Rosina was in charge of three Marchiano children (Josephine, Oscar, and Amalia) for the trip.

We know Josephine had three older sisters (Amalia, Caterina, and Vittoria) who changed their names to Molly, Catherine, and Jennie. Maybe she also had a brother Oscar.

Amalia was listed as age 9 on this trip, yet she was listed as age 37 in the 1910 census. In 1896 she would have been 22 or 23 based on the 1910 census information.
Further Proof of Josephine's Age
A paternal diagram that Vincent drew indicates his mother, Josephine, was born in 1884. That would mean she was 12 when she arrived in America instead of 2 as the passenger record indicates. Josephine gave birth to her son, Vincent, on 3/1/1903. Age 19 makes more sense than age 9 for that event. She gave birth to three daughters: Loboria in June 1904, Clara in 1905, and Helen in March 1907. After only about six years of marriage to Salvatore she died in 1908 from tuberculosis at age 23. Records for the deaths of Loboria and Helen who died from pneumonia at ages 5 months and 1 year 4 months were found by our daughter Louise.
The Name Game
After Josephine's death, Clara went to live in the home of Josephine's sister Molly (Amalia) who had married Peter DiGiacomo. The 1910 census for the household of Peter and Molly Jacobs at 199 Price Street in Philadelphia, PA lists Clara (age 4) and Molly's mother (age 60) as a widow with the name of Josephine Morris. Two last name changes for that household - DiGiacomo became Jacobs and Marchiano became Morris. Josephine Morris was the mother of Molly (nee Marchiano) and Josephine (nee Marchiano).

Vincent's mother, Josephine Marchiano, was born in Naples. She was a daughter from the marriage of a man named Marchiano and a woman named Josephine Pecci according to Vincent's maternal diagram. He had these names listed in a scrambled fashion. After close analysis I added some arrows so I could make some deductions. I did not save that tabulation of maternal ancestors done by Vincent. Later the death certificate that our daughter Louise found on Ancestry had Josephine's mother with a maiden name of Coscio; not Pecci.
