Francis Yarnall bought 100 acres in October1683 from George Maris, 25 acres in
January 1687 from Joseph Powel, and 20 acres in June 1711 from Joseph Stidman.
The Yarnall Springfield purchases are shaded light blue in the map below. He
also bought 500 acres in Willistown in 1697. Some records indicate he was a merchant
who sold spirits. Some records indicate he was also a farmer. His younger brother
Philip lived with him in Springfield and probably did most of the farming.
