Jobs during youth
A list of Steve's various jobs during his early school years includes
lawn cutting/edging, gutter cleaning, paper route, house painting, snow
shoveling, tennis instructor, dishwasher, caddy, car washer, caddy master
assistant, babysitting, house sitting and hot dog vendor. He really kept
the Yarnall tradition of hard working people going. In 12th grade Steve
participated in a ½ day work-study program as blueprint/repro/office services
person at Ballinger Architects in Philadelphia, PA. During college summers
and holidays he worked near his home for local architecture firms.
Adult job experiences
After he got his college degree in 1986 he worked for a variety of
architects, engineers and contractors in the NJ/PA/NY area. He lived with
a friend in East Meadow, Long Island, NY when he worked in New York City.
For a time in 1988 to 1992 he earned and held a NJ Real Estate license.
From 1993 to 2001 he supported the growth of the Zany Brainy toy stores
from 3 stores to over 180 through planning, drawing, and project management.
Next Steve became a Project Controls Specialist for Kling Architects in
Philadelphia, PA. In January 2003 he was caught in the downsizing at Kling.
Additional study
He studied for and took the registered architect exams. By 1994 he passed
all the required exams to enable him to hold a Registered Architect's license
in the State of New Jersey. |
