Occupations
This bright talented woman had to take a series of jobs after she got married. She did it to provide the best she could for her children. She was preparing to go to college in high school. She hoped to become an algebra teacher, but falling in love changed all that.

She stood on her feet for many years working as a hairdresser before hair stylists made the big money of today (2000). She took a job in a nearby bank as a bank teller to have the hours that allowed her to get home and take care of her children. She was bright enough to become an accountant at a variety of small businesses. All of those jobs meant no pension - just the best pay available from time to time. One big achievement was a new car in 1950.

Residences
She lived at eight different addresses from 1931 to 1962 (one of them twice) by the time of her divorce (1962). That is an average of under 4 years per address. Sale of home to son in 1962 that was really at 830 address; not 820.
She also moved many times after her divorce. She would take a job and move if it was a reasonable increase in pay. She might have been alone by the time she was 46. Her daughter got pregnant around that time or soon thereafter. I do not know when Sue left home.

Portrait taken for her family (circa 1968) on right
Around age 54 she was doing "her thing" on her own. She looked happy and seemed to be enjoying life. She always was well dressed and owned at least two dozen pairs of shoes.
