My mother's parent's last names were Palm and Rohrbach.

The Palm ancestors came from area 2 (Heilbronn Kreis). The earliest known Rohrbach ancestors probably came from the Rhein-Neckar Kreis (just northwest of Heilbronn).

 To depart for America from Rotterdam these ancestors had to travel up the Rhine River to board a ship that was going to America.


Heilbronn to Rotterdam was about a 340 mile journey. Bonn was just short of the halfway point.		 Our ancestors lived near the Neckar River (not shown on this map). It joins the Rhine River near Mannheim.
