Something Worth Leaving Behind
HOME
My wife, Polly, and her love for her children is why this song is so apt when thinking of her.

Her attributes: good artist, played the piano, very active in her church, very active in political campaigns and did the research to know what the proper view on the current issues should be. She was a very dedicated mother and a wonderful wife.

I was very fortunate to have found her and to have her say yes to my request to marry me.

Polly and I are proud of what we left behind.

I was very fortunate to have the parents I had. They worked hard during difficult times to provide the love, care, and guidance that I needed. They wanted me to have what they did not. They sacrificed to support my college education pursuits.

They were proud of what they left behind.

Lyrics

Hey Mona Lisa, who was Leonardo
Was he Andy Warhol, or you Marilyn Monroe
Hey Mozart, what kind of name is Amadeus
It’s kind of like Elvis, you gotta die to be famous

I may not go down in history
Just want someone to remember me

Probably never hold the brush that paints a masterpiece
Probably never find the pen that writes a symphony
But if I will love then I will find that
I have touched another life and that’s something
Something worth leaving behind

Hey Midas, they say you had the magic touch
But even all that shiny stuff someday’s gonna turn to dust
Hey Jesus, it must have been some Sunday morning
In a blaze of glory, still telling your story

I may not go down in history
I just want someone to remember me

Probably never dream a dream and watch it turn to gold
Know I’ll never lose my life to save another soul
But if I will love then I will find that
I have touched another life and that’s something
Something worth leaving behind

Hey baby, see the future that we’re building
Our love lives on in the lives of our children
That’s something - Something worth leaving behind
