| Richmond Country Club was 6 miles west on Rt 6. It took 10 to 15 minutes to go play. I had a membership there. Played 9 holes often. Played 18 holes ten times. | We had no idea that the Cold Harbor battlefield was so close to us when we were in Richmond for two years. That was where my great grandfather shot himself in the hand to get relieved of duty. |
