2nd PA Heavy Artillery and Company F Info |
William H Yarnall was not a hero, but he was
a soldier for a year and he saw combat. He was part of a heavy artillery
unit that engaged the Confederates. I was in the signal and finance corps of the Army for two years but I was not near any battles like he was. He was assigned to the battle that General Grant said in his memoirs he wished he had never ordered - Cold Harbor. The flag (colors) for Company F that went into battle with them is shown on the right. |
