From 1967 to 1969.
This was a very good opportunity to really rise in the company.

The Federal Reserve Banks in the US were going with Burroughs. I was to stop that trend and get IBM to be the vendor of choice for the Federal Reserve System.

IBM won with the help of some very good system analysts and a clever systems design. There was one problem - the product engineers could not make the hardware meet the design.

With the threat of having to pay back my sizable sales commission, I decided to leave IBM.

This was a tough time because I really worked almost three shifts to train the employees at the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond. Polly thought I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
