Misuse of the Yarnall Crest |

On the left is a picture of me near San Diego doing
a highly inappropriate thing with the Yarnall coat of arms! I adopted it
as though it were mine! On the right is a picture of a mug with the crest on it. Lin Yarnall bought these for us. If we ever clear up the mystery in our line of descendants regarding the parents of William Henry Yarnall, these could be OK! We need to find records that confirm Mahlon or Eber Yarnall was the father of William H. Yarnall. That will prove a direct line of male descendants! The use of the crest on many of the pages of this project is another example of inappropriate behavior on my part. Of course I apologize to Eliza Yarnall and Ruth Webster for my hypotheses about one of them being the "out-of-wedlock" mother of William H. Yarnall. I wish William had indicated who his parents were when he enlisted for the Civil War in 1863. Eliza seems to have an edge of most likely being his mother. A decision chart explains my logic. It seems that Eliza might have had a good time with one of her single older cousins, Mahlon or Eber, around Thanksgiving time in 1839. My money is on Eber who was closer to Eliza's age. Fortunately the clues from my research are fairly clear that a Yarnall line of some sort exists. His military record at the Media courthouse did not list his father and mother. Perhaps he was never told. |
